A gorgeous floating mosque was built on an artificial lake in Likas Bay, northeast of Kota Kinabalu city centre, also known as the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque. This is a typical contemporary Islamic building and one of the most magnificent mosques in the sunset landscape of Malaysia. Whenever the sun sets, the afterglow of the setting sun and the oil-like reflections on the lake enhance the beauty of the building. You can shoot the entire mosque on a white trestle or take a picture of the mosque reflection in the lake. The mosque was completed in 1997 and can accommodate up to 12,000 worshippers. The four minarets and beautiful domes of the mosque are striking. You will be deeply shocked by the historical, holy and majestic building.
