In Ulcinj's Old Town, which is dangerous to Cretan walls, you can come from the north-east side or from the sea. Among the few squares most interesting is the Squad Square, where pirates once brought and sold slaves. It is believed that the Spanish writer Migel de Servantes spent five years in prison in Ulcinj. There is a Town Museum in the Robbery Square, a small complex consisting of 3 buildings: a 14th century church-mosque with numerous archeological remains: Illyrian graffiti, Greek and Illyrian ceramics, poles of the cathedral and Turkish gravestones; The 12th century Balsić Tower, to be used for art exhibitions, in which the Jewish dissident and reformatory of the Talmud, Sebataj Sebi secretly prayed; In the third building there is an ethnographic collection, with exhibition of hunting and fishing items, as well as folk costumes. The western part of the city hides magnificent buildings. Dvori Balšić was the residence of the Montenegrin rulers, the palace of Venice belonged to the city governors.
