Birkenau was built by Auschwitz prisoners and by October 1941 was used as an extermination camp. Between 1 and 1.5 million were killed, and approximately 90 percent of those killed were Jews.

Time of pickup was altered from 8.45 to 10.15 which I thought was better as less rushed in morning Let us know day before. Pick up arrived on time Driver was good informative etc and the mini bus was comfortable etc eventho full. Provided video re camps which was useful. We had a guide that took us round both camps. Cannot remember Polish name but he said could call him Michael (I think) He was brilliant. When speaking to him realised that his family had suffered from the German occupation. His grandfather had been shot and family lost property. He therefore spoke with passion trying to convey the scale of what had taken place and it was all very moving and frankly upsetting.Over all a well run well delivered trip and a special thank you to Michael
The trip was well organised and would recommend but at the same time a little sad looking around and that so many lost their lives
A very moving experience not too be missed. The tour went very smoothly from pick up to drop off. The tour guide was amazing very knowledgeable. The only negative point was, as there is so much walking we would have liked a bit longer break between the two camps to have a coffee and rest. Other than that I would recommend this tour company.
This was an amazing tour.
Tour guide was awful and ruined the experience. I am very disappointed as this was a trip of a lifetime and I felt it fell far short of my expectations.
Really good. Sometimes the tour group was large enough that if you were at the back, couldn't hear the tour guide properly. Felt a little rushed at times as well just how the tours are guided - would have liked the chance to read all the exhibits we didn't get to see. Besides all that, well worth the trip. Would recommend.
