Your trip will start with picking up from a previously determined place in Krakow from a hotel or apartment. The journey from Krakow to Auschwitz takes about 1,5 hours. Information about the driver who will pick you up the phone numbers to him and the color of the vehicle that will pick you up, you will receive the day before the planned trip.

Stop At: Auschwitz I, Stanisławy Leszczyńskiej 11, 32-600 Oświęcim, Poland

Established in the early 1940s by the Nazis, Auschwitz was originally intended for Polish political prisoners. Later, when it was extended to include the neighboring site of Birkenau, it became an extermination camp for primarily European Jews, killing an estimated 1.1 million people. Begin your trip at your Krakow hotel, where a driver will meet you at your preferred pickup time. Arrive outside the town of Oświęcim around 1.5 hours later, where you’ll join up with your guide at the camp’s visitor center. Enter the gates of the complex under the chilling inscription of ‘Arbeit macht frei’ (‘Work sets you free’) and explore the key buildings and exhibitions that preserve the memory of the many lives lost there. Learn how the Nazi camp functioned as you pass the barracks and watchtowers, as well as the gas chambers and crematoriums. Your guide will take care to discuss the harrowing stories in a sensitive manner as you go.

Stop At: Auschwitz II-Birkenau, Ofiar Niemieckiego Faszyzmu 12, 32-600 Brzezinka, Poland

You will have a brief break to eat a pre-packed lunch (own expense), as there are no eating facilities at the camp. Afterward, visit the camp's memorial in Birkenau and spend a quiet moment into remember the lives of the victims.

Stop At: Wieliczka Salt Mine, Jana Mikolaja Danilowicza 10, Wieliczka 32-020 Poland

Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the most precious and fascinating Polish monuments. The first tourist trail in Wieliczka was established as early as the beginning of the19th century. A couple of centuries later the salt mine was designated as one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites (1978). The underground path leads through numerous drifts, galleries and chambers, where traces of mining activity have been preserved, as well as examples of art, theme compositions relating to the history of the mine and its legends. Wieliczka is the world's largest mining heritage museum with a collection encompassing unique pieces of mining equipment reflecting the development of mining techniques from the Middle Ages until today. Moreover, the microclimate of the mine has a beneficial impact on visitors who suffer from asthma and allergies. The tour starts with a descent of 64 meters by stairs. You are then led through a number of chambers and shown underground lakes, shrines and salt monuments. The trip finishes at the level of 135 meters below the surface and the return to the surface is by lift.
