About this activity
Probably the oldest remaining structure is a stone tower called
Baszta which dates back to
medieval ages. At her base you will find a
14th century castle built by Polish king Kazimierz the Great. The city flourished at the break of the 16th and 17th century mostly due to grain trade. This is commemorated by
granaries located at the banks of the Vistula river which was formerly the main trade route in Poland. At the time Kazimierz already boasted three temples. One of them is worth your particular attention, it was renovated in the style of
lubelski renaissance and boasts one of the
oldest and largest organs in Poland (dating back to approximately 1620).
The town has for a long while been a home to many artists. Its gorgeous scenery attracts mostly painters, who create here their distinguished works.
To the art lovers we recommend visiting some of their art galleries, which can be found around the Old Town. In Kazimierz you can admire not only beautiful creations of artists, but also those of nature. One of such is
Korzeniowy Dol known as one of the most beautiful
ravines in the area.
This is a site popular with tourists throughout all four seasons.
