The ”Wieliczka” Salt Mine is a fabulous underground world created by salt miners through the centuries with beginning in the 14th century. Today the mine is a network of nine levels corridors & tunnels, a set of spacious chambers and chapels carved in the salt rock, with its works of art sculpted with the hands of miners. During a tour you will have the opportunity to walk through only 1% of the available space however it will be a three-kilometer distance of salt corridors, 135 meters deep underground (442ft) which will last around 2,5 hours.

A district that was built from scratch by the communist authorities. Construction of a steel mill was started. The authorities wanted to guarantee perfect and even housing conditions for families who worked for years in the steelworks. This district is characterized by a different architecture. Some stores and restaurants, which had their glory years in the communist years, still exist. In this area there is also a museum of the Nowa Huta with special exhibition through shelters.

The Museum of Nowa Huta, the latest branch of the Museum of Krakow located in the historical buildings of the former Światowid cinema, has been founded following a merger between the Museum of Communist Poland with the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków.

Built between 1967 and 1977, Nowa Huta’s first house of worship was designed by Wojciech Pietrzyk and was pieced together brick by brick by volunteer workers with no assistance from the communist authorities. The complete opposite of what Nowa Huta was meant to stand for, The Lord's Ark (Arka Pana) is a remarkable building, and a true symbol of the Polish belief in Catholicism.
