Then you should know that one of the best and nearest attractions that you can visit is the Wieliczka Salt Mine.As you cut through its numerous corridors, you’ll feel like you’re a spelunker uncovering something beyond your wildest dreams during an excavation. The Salt Mine isn’t just any mine with jagged interiors and dark pathways. It’s lit up and has numerous sections that make it look like a museum. You’ll be able to see the different kinds of salt mining equipment and machines that were used as well as intricate sculptures made out of rock salt on display. You’ll also venture into the hallowed halls of its four chapels and drop by its majestic underground saline lake. All throughout, you’ll be accompanied by a fun and engaging tour guide who will paint a vivid picture of what business was like in the mines through fascinating stories and insightful factoids regarding its history. This is a must for any adventurer visiting Poland.
Itinerary:

• Get picked up at your hotel or at the pick up location (exact pick up location and time will be sent to you by the operator)
• 8:45am/9:00am/11:20am/2:45pm/3:30pm/4:10pm tour begins
• Travel to the Wieliczka Salt Mine (approximately 1 hour)
• Short break (15-20 minutes)
• Arrive at the Salt Mine and go down 380 steps to the first level, which is 64 meters underground
• Explore 2 kilometers worth of walkways and ramps and see its different chambers and salt statues
• See the mining efforts in the Michałowice Chamber and marvel at its interiors
• Listen to Frédéric Chopin’s étude in the famous Weimar Chamber upon an underground saline lake
• Learn about the legend of the Duchess Kinga who brought the treasure of salt to Poland
• Visit St. Kinga's Chapel at the center of the mine
• Ride a lift back to the entrance of the mine
• Short break (15-20 minutes)
• Depart for Kraków (approximately 1 hour)
• Arrive at Kraków between 1:00pm-2:00pm/3:00pm-4:00pm/7:00pm-8:00pm (depends on your pick up time)
Insider Tips:
• This tour involves a fair amount of walking, especially up an down stairs. Please wear comfortable shoes during the date of your tour
• It's also recommended that you wear several layers of warm clothing because the mine is located 135 meters (443 feet) underground and the air temperature is approximately 14-16 degrees celsius
• Please bring your own food during the tour; you can eat them during the short breaks

  • Please note: visitors who wish to take photos during the tour are required to purchase a special permit . It'll be available at several points along the route to the mine
  • The guided tour is approximated 2 hours and 30 minutes long and it'll be conducted according to the rules and regulations of the Wieliczka Salt Mine
  • For security reasons, each tourist will have to go through a mandatory security check
  • You're only allowed to bring a bag that doesn't exceed these dimensions 35cm x 20cm x 20cm (13'7" x 7'8"" x 7'8"). Please refrain from bringing bags or luggage that exceed these dimensions
  • The mine isn't wheelchair and baby stroller-accessible
  • Headsets will be provided during the tour. You can use these to hear the guide better as you move along inside the mine
  • Please make sure to indicate your Kraków hotel's name and address
