Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains Tour from Kraków
1 day
About this activity
Go on an adventure beyond its medieval walls to go touring around the quaint town of Zakopane at the base of the Tatra Mountains! As you walk around the streets of this hamlet, you’ll discover the Zakopane style of art and architecture. You’ll learn more about the importance of this kind of style, how its emblematic of the village, and how its one of the highlights of its rustic charm through the fascinating factoids of your tour guide as you explore the Tatra Museum. You’ll even get acquainted with the Podhale dialect of the Tatra Mountain Highlanders, take a look at their handmade outfits and sundries, and even enter a shepherd’s hut where you’ll delight in a tasty and salty smoked sheep’s milk cheese called “oscypek”. To cap off this escapade, you’ll ride a funicular to the top of Mount Gubałówka. On your way to the summit, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the granite and limestone peaks of the Tatra Mountains and of the landscape below. At the summit, you’ll be given some free time to explore the area on your own. This is definitely a must-book tour for nature lovers and for those who want to see the rural side of Poland.
