Zalipie is the famous village in south-eastern Poland where poeple paint their cottages in colorful floral motifs. Zalipie with it's folk art is a unique place in old polish countryside.

This folk fame derives from a local ornamentation tradition, which got it's origins in the nineteenth century when women and girls used to paint their cottages.

Once a year around Corpus Christi church holiday is a competition when they choose best painted cottage.

Zalipie is not an open-air musuem because people live in their painted houses , as well as post office, church and fire department headquarter are also painted in flower compositions.

In Zalipie you can even meet dog's sheds and fences with floral paintings.
