About this activity
Day1: Beng Melea and Koh Ke
You will be picked up at lobby of hotel at 8 am. Then going to Beng Mea lea, built as a Hindu temple, but there are some carvings depicting Buddhist motifs. Its primary material is sandstone and it is largely undestroyed, with trees and thick brush thriving amidst its towers and courtyards and many of its stones lying in great heaps. For years it was difficult to reach, but a road recently built to the temple complex of Koh Ker passes Beng Mealea and more visitors are coming to the site, as it is 77 km from Siem Reap by road.
After that, going to visit Koh Ke temple, a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia about 120 kilometres away from Siem Reap and the ancient site of Angkor. It is a very jungle filled region that is sparsely populated. More than 180 sanctuaries were found in a protected area of 81 square kilometers (31 sq mi). Only about two dozen monuments can be visited by tourists because most of the sanctuaries are hidden in the forest and the whole area is not fully demined. (Dinner and overnight at Preh Vihear town)
Day2: Preh Vihear Temple
After breakfast at hotel, keep going to Preh Vihear temple an ancient Hindu temple built during the reign of the Khmer Empire, that is situated atop a 525-metre cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains, in the Preah Vihear province, Cambodia. In 1962, following a lengthy dispute between Thailand and Cambodia over ownership, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague ruled that the temple is in Cambodia. (Lunch at local restaurant)
Afternoon, return to Siem Reap
