Following pickup from your hotel at 8 am, embark on a journey through the history of Angkor with your guide. Start at the South Gate where you will find 54 stone statues engaged in the performance of a famous Hindu story: the myth of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk. Follow through the entrance to reach to Bayon Temple at the center of the site. Bayon was the state temple in the late 13th century and sat at the center of Angkor Thom, a walled city that served as the capital of the Khmer Empire. The exploration continues on to Baphuon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Before stopping for lunch, visit Ta Prohm temple. Today, the temple is nicknamed the Tomb Raider’s Temple, thanks to its appearance in Angelina Jolie’s movie. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Angkor Wat Temple. The guide’s narration will enhance your visit to this spectacular temple. King Suryavarmam II built Angkor Wat in the beginning of 12th century and dedicated it to Hindu god Vishnu.
