Chreav Bird Sanctuary Tour from Siem Reap
Your driver will pick you up in an air-conditioned vehicle at your hotel in Siem Reap at 7am and head southwest, passing quickly from urban Siem Reap to the rural countryside. An amazing elevated drive will take you past numerous rice paddies and buffaloes.
After a one-hour drive you will arrive at Chreav Bird Sanctuary. Here you will board a traditional longtail boat on the lake, allowing you to get an up-close-and-personal look at the nesting areas and breeding grounds of these rare water birds. Some of the rare bird species encountered on this tour may include the Spot Billed Pelican, the Black Headed Ibis, the Greater Adjutant, the Lesser Adjutant, the Asian Openbill, the Black Necked Stork, the Painted Stork, the Oriental Darter, the Masked Finfoot, and the Grey Headed Fish Eagle. An expert bird guide accompany you along the way to point out the best viewing areas.
After roughly two hours on the water, you will be taken back to the docking area for a picnic lunch and drinks. After lunch, you will be transported back to Siem Reap and to your hotel by our air-conditioned minivan, arriving at approximately 1p.m.
