Siem Reap - Full day Banteay Srei & Beng Mealea temples excursion

A great way to start our day in the countryside with a visit to an ancient Hindu temple called Banteay Srei, said to be the most beautiful temple ruin from the Angkor Era. Considered by many to be the Mona Lisa of the East, Banteay Srey Temple is built from pink sandstone, making it very popular and also known as the Temple of Women. 

After our first temple expedition, we'll grab a satisfying lunch at the local restaurant.

After we fill our bellies and rest our bodies and minds, we'll continue by taking in yet another wonder, the Beng Mealea, a temple that was built in the 12 century. The layout and style of Beng Mealea is very similar to that of Angkor Wat. Its current state, however, is dominated by jungle. Trees have grown out of the towers, and vines entangle columns that make its beauty truly remarkable. 

Though lintels and other building blocks lay around in a tumble and require visitors to climb up and down as they approach the completely collapsed central towers, the climb is all worth the effort.
