Itinerary

Stop At: Phnom Kulen National Park, Cambodia

After breakfast at around 8am, we’ll come and pick you up and start the hour or so drive out to the Phnom Kulen mountain range. The drive into the site is up steep hills and the landscape is like no other in Cambodia. This sandstone mountain used to provide all the sandstone required for the temples and is very important for the history of the Khmer empire. Phnom Kulen has been made a National Park by the Cambodian government. Here you can see a stunning waterfall which increases in size during the rainy season. We can also go for a swim and enjoy relaxing by the water.

Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Beng Mealea, 40 km east of Angkor Wat Cambodia

After Phnom Kulen, we’ll head over to Beng Mealea. This is an interesting Hindu temple because it also contains some Buddhist motifs. The history of Beng Mealea is unknown, but it is smaller copy of Angkor Wat. Therefore, it’s thought that it was built roughly at the same time Angkor Wat was built. Beng Mealea is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and is a popular place to visit. However, many guests in Cambodia don’t make it to Beng Mealea due to its distance from Siem Reap town. Therefore, you can explore this majestic temple is relative peace and quiet when compared to the famous Angkor Wat.

Duration: 4 hours
