Stop At: Pre Rup, Siem Reap Cambodia

Our first temple of the day is the red-hued Pre Rup, a beautiful site whose name means "turn the body" as it was used for funeral services.

Stop At: Banteay Srei, Siem Reap Cambodia

We’ll then experience the Cambodian countryside as we journey towards Banteay Srei. This fascinating Hindu temple is described by UNESCO as an ‘indisputable artistic masterpiece’. Banteay Srei translates as ‘the Citadel of Women’, based on the theory that the delicate carvings could only have been created by a woman’s hand.

Stop At: Eastern Mebon, Krong Siem Reap, Cambodia

Explore the former artificial island of East Mebon, noteworthy for its large elephant statues

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Ta Som, Angkor Archaeological Park Cambodia

We’ll explore the corridors, towers, courtyards and shrines, and still have time to visit Ta Som and East Mebon after stopping for lunch. These Hindu temples date back around 1,000 years and are half hidden in tree roots – classic Angkor style.

Stop At: Preah Khan, Angkor Wat, Siem Reap Cambodia

You’ll also be transported by air-conditioned minibus to Preak Khan, built over 138 acres by a Buddhist King and translating as ‘the Sacred Sword’. At one point this complex was home to 1,000 servants and packed full of silver, gold and gems!
