About this activity
Explore the temple ruins that are located in Siem Reap Province, most within the boundaries of the Angkor Archaeological Park near Siem Reap City and the other ruins located in the nearby provinces like Preah Vihear Province, at the northwest of Siem Reap together with Beng Mealea, Koh Ker, and Preah Vihear temples.

Your first stop will be at Beng Mealea, a sprawling jungle temple covering over one square kilometre. The temple is largely overrun by vegetation and has very few touristy, giving it an adventurous, ‘Lost Temple' or 'Indiana Jones’ feels. It predates and may have served as a prototype for Angkor Wat. Beng Mealea was at the crossroads of several major highways that ran to Angkor, Koh Ker, and Preah Vihear (in northern Cambodia).

For your second stop, we will bring you to Koh Ker, a road loop around the bay beyond of the most important temples. The premier ruin of the complex is Prasat Thom, an imposing 7-tiered pyramid and temple complex. (Best photographed in the morning and offering a bird’s eye view from the top.) As you go round the loop, there are several nicely preserved ruins just off the road, impressive prasats, and small temple complexes.

After a short trekking at the 7-tiered pyramid, replenish your energy by indulging yourself to some of Cambodia’s delicacies mixed with western inspired dishes at a restaurant situated within the premises of Koh Ker.

After lunch, we will be heading to your third and last stop, The Preah Vihear, which has unique ruins with a spectacular view of the Cambodian plain. It is situated on the edge of a plateau that dominates the plain of Cambodia; the Temple of Preah Vihear is dedicated to Shiva. The Temple is composed of a series of sanctuaries linked by a system of pavements and staircases.

After the day of adventure and discovery, here then you can choose to go back to the city and drop off to your original pick up place. Or you can add an option of witnessing the known Apsara dinner dance show or treat yourself to a relaxing 60 mins body massage to end the day.

I was a single traveller and all other people did not speak English as it was a Japanese tour but the guide was amazing and spoke English too for me. All other tours were almost $400 so this was great value. Wonderful day out!
