About this activity
The tour will begin at 3:30pm, when you will be picked up from your hotel or guesthouse in an air-conditioned vehicle. Your friendly and knowledgeable tour guides speak English (and Khmer of course), and they will ensure that you enjoy your tour, pointing out areas of local interest along the way and answering any questions you may have. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the port.

On route to the famous Queen Tara, the biggest boat on the lake, in the heart of the floating village, you will pass rice paddies and lotus fields and will have an opportunity to stop and take some photos of the lotus flowers which are a deeply important flower in Buddhism (please note: depending on the time of year the view of the lotus and rice fields will vary). You will then stop at the Crocodile and Fish Farm (depending on current water levels) in the floating village where you will learn about some of the trades people on the lake work in. If catfish, crocodiles and large snakes don't interest you, there is a souvenir shop and a viewing deck on board for you to purchase some presents for loved ones or take a few photos.

The boat ride through the floating village will allow you to see ordinary Cambodians going about their daily life in the floating village. Fishermen, boat-makers, markets, schools, spirit houses and waving children are always in plentiful supply on this mesmerizing scenic route, and it is not uncommon for the scenery to provoke silence on the small boat, as customers take in the sights and sounds that surround them. Once the trip through the floating village is complete, your boat will briefly enter the edge of the great lake before docking with the famous Queen Tara, in the heart of the floating village, with unrivaled views of the floating village and the best place to watch the sunset.

There you will enjoy a well-deserved meal and all you can drink cocktails. Afterward, you can take a seat on the viewing deck and enjoy the magnificent scenery or chill out in our plentiful hammocks. If the weather is good, you will get a first class view of a spectacular sunset, the likes of which you will never forget. Even if there isn’t a sunset, the magnificent and unique cloud linings that form above the great lake are always a spectacle to behold. At about 6:45pm you’ll leave the Queen Tara and head back to the port, where your air-conditioned vehicle will be waiting to transport you directly home, to your hotel or guesthouse.

Really enjoyed our tour. Great value for the tour. Our guide Mr. Friday was prompt at picking us up from our hotel and was friendly and out going. More than that he was very knowledgeable. The lotus farm was super cool and we were taught how much can be done with them— from eating to lip balm to silk spun into fabric! Then we took a small boat that would fit about 10 people. The driver and his young son were great and professional. Beware of young kids coming up to the boat in makeshift boats with pythons asking for a dollar to eat or to take a picture. They are aggressive. The crocodile “farm” was ok. The large party boat we went out on the lake on was nice. It had a lovely upstairs deck to see the sunset while enjoying unlimited alcoholic beverages. The buffet food was a good spread too! Overall our tour guide was great and the boat driver was great too. We would highly recommend and enjoy again if the opportunity arises!

Good part - watching the floating houses and life on the lake. Once you reach the big boat in the main Tonle sap lake it's pretty calm and peaceful, with a great sunset viewing experience. The staff on the boat were very gracious. Not so good - quality of boat in which we were ferried through the estuarry to the bigger boat waiting for us in the tonle sap lake was not that great, not recommend for family with kids, made me kind of regret booking the trip. Also, the trip back the estuarry was done in the dark with light on the boat going out at times, not the best experience.

The main and pretty much only highlight of this was the sunset on the boat. The food and free drinks on the boat were very nice and the guys working on board very friendly. The crocodile farm is very crowded and chaotic and not really worth it to see a heap of crocodiles bunch up in a small pen.

Enjoy the sights of floating village. Crocodile and fish farm too small. Buffet dinner satisfactory.
