Taste Siem Reap, Contemporary Khmer Cuisine Food Tour

Pick up from hotel at 5:30pm by ramork (a local form of open-air transportation) and drive to Theam’s House, an artistic enclave in the suburbs outside of Siem Reap. Theam's House is the home cum-atelier of the Cambodian artist and designer Lim Muy Theam. Set amidst a tranquil tropical garden, the traditional wooden house serves as a unique venue for an early evening drink, followed by an exploration of the property, a work of art in itself.

Next, travel to Mie Cafe, where Chef Pola prepares Khmer and western gourmet artfully, combining his Swiss culinary training with knowledge of traditional Khmer dishes. Within a traditional Khmer house with outdoor patio featuring a serene garden setting, enjoy a family-style selection of appetisers and a drink of choice in a relaxing garden setting.

For the main course, head over to Pou’s, where Khmer cuisine is given a contemporary spin and the setting is equal parts traditional Khmer street-side dining and western-style restaurant. Chef Meng Ly is one of Siem Reap’s hottest young culinary artists. This is contemporary Khmer cuisine at it’s best, with modern takes on Cambodian classics, including an amok curry cocktail!

 

Finally, enjoy an after-dinner cocktail at The Village Cafe, a Parisian-style bistro that hearkens back to Cambodia’s roots as a region of French Indochina.
