Stop At: Lenggong Archaeological Museum, Kota Tampan New Village, Lenggong 33400 Malaysia

After approximately 3 hours journey we will reach Lenggong Valley. Lenggong Valley is the site of the oldest known place of human activity in Peninsular Malaysia. And the most significant archaeological discovery here was the Perak Man.

The Lenggong Archaeology Museum is an open air museum which houses numerous historical artifacts dating some 1.3 million years ago. The Lenggong Valley was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 30th June 2012.

Lenggong Archaeological Museum or Kota Tampan Archaeological Museum is located in Kota Tampan, near Lenggong. It is a pre-historical site dating back 74,000 years ago.

After spent an hour here, we move to Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar.

Stop At: Pavilion Tower, Jalan Bendahara, Kuala Kangsar Malaysia

It is situated across the road of Malay College Malaysia. It is a three tiers building build for the royal families in the year 1930. The royal families used to watch polo matches nearby in comfort. Earlier, it was used as a recreational center for court officials. After renovation, it becomes a part of Public Park and you can visit here. It was built under the instructions of Sultan Iskandar Shah and is occasionally referred as “Pagoda of Malaysia”.

Stop At: Oldest Rubber Tree, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kampung Penaga, Kuala Kangsar 33000 Malaysia

Another famous Kuala Kangsar places of interest are the oldest rubber trees of Malaysia. These trees were planted when Malaysia was first introduced in the year 1877. And even till today, these trees continue to attract thousands of travelers from all over the world.

Stop At: Galeri Sultan Azlan Shah, Wisma MPKK Jalan Taiping, Kuala Kangsar 33000 Malaysia

This is a royal place in Perak, Malaysia that provides an insight into the Perak royal family. It displays the history and milestones of the life of his highness Sultan Azlan Shah. By visiting this royal place, you will get to learn much about the life of Sultan Azlan Shah as the building showcase his life. His education, career, love for hockey, hobbies of collecting coins, notes, watches etc has shown in this building. The main building displays the outfits and swords of Sultan Azlan Shah.

Stop At: Ubudiah Mosque, Kuala Kangsar Malaysia

It is the main attraction of Kuala Kangsar. Ubudiah Mosque is the first place that will pop up in your mind when you think of Kuala Kangsar. It is called one of the beautiful mosques of Malaysia. It is the golden-domed mosque with minarets surrounded by coconut trees that create a spellbinding sight. This great mosque was designed by Arthur Benison Hubback (a government architect) and erected under the orders of Sultan Idris Murshidul Adzam Shah, in the year 1913 and was finally completed in the year 1917. There is an interesting story behind the construction of this mosque. There was a delay in the construction because two royal elephants destroyed the marble while fighting then the marble was re-imported from Italy.

Off to the side of the mosque are some traditional Malay houses such as Rumah Meor, an all wooden mansion once owned by one of the Sultan’s retainers

Another traditional wooden house is Baitul Anor, the former residence of the Raja Kechil Sulong Harun Al Rashid; the prince of Perak. It is the notable mansion of the royal family. This mansion was built by the prince for his third wife. The separated yellow balcony is an interesting feature of the mansion. If you take a peek inside this mansion you will find the old pictures and stories of the royal family.

Stop At: Kuala Kangsar Royal District, Jalan Istana, Kuala Kangsar 33000 Malaysia

Istana Iskandariah is a royal palace and the official residence of the Sultan of Perak after its completion in the year 1933. This beautiful and historic place is situated at the royal town of Malaysia, Kuala Kangsar. The construction of this building is based on the architecture of West Asia. This royal building is facing the sunrise and river. Istana Iskandariah is designed with a royal dining room, audience halls, royal rest chambers, ladies’ cloakroom music hall, and the royal council chamber. The onion-shaped dome and minarets give it a fascinated look.

Visitors are allowed to view this beautiful architecture from the outside only

Stop At: Royal Heritage of Kuala Kangsar, Malaysia

It was the former royal residence but now it is known as the Royal Museum of Perak. If you take a closer look, you can see the scrupulous craftsmanship in the building. This building is designed with delicate carvings on roof and walls with contrasting colors of yellow and white. The Royal Museum represents the traditional Malay architecture. It is open to the local public and tourists’ every day from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. The most amazing thing about this place is that it is designed without any blueprint and not a single nail was used in the construction.

Visitors are allowed to view the beautiful architectural of the gold-coloured building from the outside only because of the safety reason. The building is fragile due to age.

Stop At: Sultan Iskandar Bridge, Kuala Kangsar 33000 Malaysia

It is one of the 4 major bridges in Kuala Kangsar, Malaysia also known as Sultan Iskandar Bridge. It is the longest steel arch bridge in Malaysia with a total length of 308 meters and width of 10.2 meters. It was constructed in the year 1932 by Messrs James Craig Ltd. This bridge was officially inaugurated by late Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Perak and is one of the most frequented Kuala Kangsar tourist attractions.

Stop At: Victoria Bridge, Karai, Kuala Kangsar Malaysia

It was constructed by the government of Perak in the year 1897 to 1900. It is a nostalgic charm that reminds you of the railways in the old classic movies. That was inaugurated by Sultan Idris Murshidul Azzam Shah. This bridge was named after Queen Victoria. It is the single railway bridge to cross Sungai Perak at Karai. Now the bridge is no longer in use since the year 2002.

The bridge at her peak was an important structure during the boom of the tin mining industry as well as linking the western Malay states with each other and the port of Penang. The bridge is said to be similar to the “bridge on the river Kwai” and Guillemard Bridge in Kelantan.
