First visit to Selayang Hot Spring to make your self healthy before start the journey.
This place has been in existence for the past four decades and is a popular spot among the locals. They believed that this spring water is able to cure them of skin diseases and other ailments.

Continue journey drive through sungai choh where more to countryside.sungai choh has existed since the late 19s. Early settlers from Sumatera (More specifically, the Malay community from the descendants of Bengkulu, a province in Indonesia.) are the first to settle down at Sungai Choh. Today, most of the community at Sungai Choh are Bengkulu-related.

Passed by Sultan Idris Education University , The first teacher training center in Malaya was originally located in Taiping and was known as the Matang Teacher Training College. Opened in 1913, the house of the Malay noble of Taiping, Ngah Ibrahim served as the first teacher training college in Malaya until it was shifted to Tanjung Malim nine years later and given the name of the Sultan of Perak at that time.

Next visit to Ulu Slim, Arriving at Kampung Ulu Slim, the first thing we noticed is hot steam piping from a pool nearby. This natural hot spring is the hottest in Malaysia. Estimated at 152 degrees Celsius (306 degrees Fahrenheit), the spring is so hot we cooked hard boiled eggs in a matter of 15minutes – HA! (yes, you will have the opportunity to try cooking eggs as this will be the first stop en route to the campsite).

Next stop was the Orang Asli (local Malaysian aborigines) village just about 5 minutes away from the hot springs. Here, we were able to experience local Orang Asli delicacies which they cooked just for us. Along with that, we also learned how to use the blow pipe and weave traditional head gears and grass skirts. Blow pipes were traditionally used by the Orang Asli’s for hunting, but these days hunting is done at a nearby market and the tradition of using the blow pipes is just kept alive as a tradition. You may even get a surprise gift from them…who knows? (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

Passed by Slim River cut-back to Kuala Lumpur, The town is named after a nearby river, Sungai Slim. The word Sungai means river in Malay. The river was actually named after an English captain with last name Slim in the 19th century. He accidentally went up the river instead of the Perak River which was the main waterway back then.
