Day 1: Kuching - Tanjung Datu National Park
Wake up in the morning and have your breakfast at the hotel. By 8.30am, our driver will pick you up and transfer for about 3 hours drive to Sematan. Your journey will pass through scenic countrysides, paddy fields, Cocoa, Rubber, Pepper Plantations amidst the Borneo rainforest.
Before reaching Sematan, you'll get to stop by Lundu town for lunch. Once you arrive at Sematan by 1 pm, hop on the boat to reach Tanjung Dato National Park ( estimate 60-minutes ride). If the tide is low or sea conditions prevent the boat from landing, you can land at a small bay (Telok Upas). Then, proceed for a 15-minutes walk to reach the park headquarters.
Upon arrival, check-in at the hostel. Feel free to explore the area, visit the turtle hatchery or relax by the beach before dinner time. After dinner, join in the night safari walk to see some of the nocturnal wildlife there. Next,proceed along the beach to search if there are any turtles come ashore for nesting (no guarantee of turtle sighting). Overnight at the hostel.
Day 2: Tanjung Datu National Park
After breakfast, it's time for your jungle trekking adventure! Trekking into the forest along Pasir Antu Laut trail(2.7km) and keep a lookout of Borneo wildlife. You might spot gibbons, banded langurs, and hornbills along the trail. The trail leads to the picturesque beach, where you can relax or go for a swim. Continue your trekking via the same route trail. Halfway along the trail, you'll get to stop by at Turtle Beach to see the huge boulders found along the coast. Have a late lunch at the park headquarters and free at own leisure. If the tide is low, you can go snorkeling at Telok Upas or relax at the beach before dinner time. After dinner, go for another round of night safari walk to search for more nocturnal wildlife. Overnight at the hostel.
Day 3: Tanjung Datu National Park - Kuching
After breakfast, it is a free and easy activity. Relax at the beach or go for a swim before checking out from your hostel. Return back to Sematan via boat and have a lunch at the local cafeteria. Our driver will be there for your transfer back to your hotel in Kuching.
