3-Day Stone Forest and Yuanyang Terraces Tour

Day 1: Stone Forest
In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel (within second ring road of Kunming city) or meeting point and driven to the Stone Forest, a UNESCO Geopark which was formed 270 million years ago. After lunch you will continue to the Yuanyang Rice terraces, which are also listed as a UNECO world heritage, and take a look at the Lengdun local fruit market on the road. Then you will go to the Duoyishu scenery area, check into our hotel and get plenty of rest for the next day’s trip.
Day 2: Sunrise at the Duoyishu Terraces, Minority Village (B, L)
Today you will have a full day trip and will get up very early in the morning to see the sunrise at the Duoyishu Terraces, which is the best place for sunrise photos and cloud seas. Then you will return to the hotel to have breakfast and go visit the Bada terraces. The terraces stretch from 800 meters to more than 2000 meters elevation and have beautiful parallel lines and 3700 level of terraces.
In Qingkou village you will see the traditional mushroom houses of the Hani ethnic minority, situated halfway up the hill. It is a good place to feel the harmony between men and nature. Because the Hani ethnic group has learned to combine their farming ways with their natural environment, resulting in this rice terrace masterpiece.
After lunch you’ll go back to hotel and have a rest before starting a short hike to the nearby ethnic minority village to see their unique way of life and culture.
At the end of the day you will drive to Laohuzui terraces to see the sunset above more than 850 hectares of terraces in all shapes and forms. Then your driver will bring you back to the hotel after this long day.
Day 3: Sheng Village morning market and Xingmeng Village (B, L)
After breakfast you will visit the Sheng village morning market, where a lot of local people wear their traditional clothes and from there you will start the way back to Kunming. Halfway back, you will also stop at a small Mongolian Village in Tonghai and then finish the road to Kunming, where this tour will end.
