Stone Forest Private Day Tour

After breakfast, meet your guide and driver at your downtown Kunming hotel around 8am. Hop aboard your private, air-conditioned vehicle for the 90-minute journey to the Yunnan Stone Forest Geological Park, part of the South China Karst UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The startling rock formations here cover around 400 square kilometers (155 square miles) – a jagged forest of towering pinnacles shaped by long geological processes around 270 million years ago.

Your guide will lead you through highlights of the eight distinct areas of the forest: the Major Stone Forest, the Minor Stone Forest, Naigu Stone Forest, Dadieshui Waterfall, Changhu Lake, Yuehu Lake, Zhiyun Cave and Qifeng Cave. While you'll do some walking at each of the areas, transport between them will be by private vehicle.

You'll enjoy a delicious lunch of Yunnan specialties over the course of the tour, washed down with Chinese tea, before leaving the park around 2:30pm, to return to your hotel at 4pm.
