Break for lunch in Selcuk (own expense) and then meet your guide for a visit to a traditional carpet-weaving store close to the town of Selcuk. Witness carpets being made by master weavers and watch them dye the fabric with natural plant-based ingredients.

Day 3: Kusadasi to Pamukkale and Hierapolis

Relax over breakfast before checking out of your hotel and visit an important leather factory in Kusadasi with your guide.

Turkey is one of the most famous exporters and producers of leather products, and the factory showcases some of Kusadasi’s most beautiful leatherwork. Browse the locally handcrafted products, and shop for items to take home.

Stop At: Hierapolis & Pamukkale, Pamukkale 20280 Turkey
After stopping for lunch (own expense), have an afternoon tour to the archaeological site of Pamukkale where you will see Pamukkale’s magical white travertine rock terraces cascading down from the ancient city of Hierapolis.

Walk around this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site with your guide, learning about the rock’s formation before heading to the ancient city of Hierapolis for a relaxing dip in its naturally formed pools (own expense). Walk around its crumbling ruins and admire its Classical necropolis (Roman burial site) and huge Roman theatre before heading to your Pamukkale hotel in time for dinner.

Day 4: Pamukkale – Silk Road – Cappadocia

Stop At: Cappadocia, Cappadocia
Enjoy breakfast and check out of your hotel before travelling by minibus and head to Turkey’s mystical Cappadocia region.

The journey will take up most of your day, but you’ll pass a fascinating stretch of road called the Silk Road or Uzun Yol where in ancient times, consisted of caravan trails between the important silk-making regions of Anatolia. Nowadays, the most prominent reminders of the ancient trade route are the kervansarays (caravan palaces).

You will visit one of the best-preserved ones, Sultanhani Caravansary and then enjoy a stop in Konya to enjoy lunch (own expense) and visit the Mevlana Museum which is dedicated to Mevla Celaddiini-Rum a Muslim poet.

Once you arrive in Cappadocia, check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner or take part in a folklore evening (own expense), a great introduction to Anatolian culture and tradition featuring live belly dancing and music from a local folk band, plus unlimited drinks.

Day 5: Cappadocia - Göreme Open-Air Museum - Kaymalki Underground City

Stop At: Goreme, Goreme, Cappadocia
After a lovely breakfast, your guide will collect you for a trip to Göreme Open-Air Museum, an important Turkish museum nestled in the heart of the region’s fairytale landscape typified by caramel-coloured buildings and the bizarre fairy chimneys. The open-air museum comprises of a cluster of rock churches and monasteries that attest to Byzantine life in Cappadocia.

Explore this stunning landscape with your guide and see what life was like long ago in this intriguing area of Anatolia. Stop for lunch (own expense) in Göreme before heading by minibus through Devrent Valley to see the perfectly formed fairy chimneys in dense clusters.


Stop At: Kaymakli Underground City, Derinkuyu Turkey
After a short trip, arrive in Kaymakli Underground City and go below ground to walk around its subterranean maze of passages, cellars and stables.

Return to your Cappadocia hotel in the evening and enjoy dinner.

Day 6: Cappadocia – Ankara – Istanbul

Enjoy lunch (own expense) before heading inside Anit Kabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk an important figure who founded modern Turkey. Browse an impressive collection of Atatürk memorabilia inside the mausoleum’s museum and learn about this colourful and domineering dictator.

Arrive in Istanbul early evening and then spend your night at leisure and your guide will happily give you restaurant recommendations for dinner.

Then at a pre-arranged time in the afternoon, check out of your hotel and finish your tour with a transfer to Istanbul's airports or you could extend your holiday.
