Our experience was a little different than we expected, but it was fun. Our driver picked us up from our south Bali location, but the person who coordinated our pick-up had pre warned us hat it would cost us an extra 200,000 IDR because we were not at one of their standard pick-up locations. He then drove us to Lovina where we stayed the night. The hotel was fine; it room was be two rooms that they had knocked out a wall from between. Because we were a party of 3, the hotel brought in an extra twin sized mattress and put it on the floor on the opposite side of the room (previously the other room). We paid for dinner in the hotel restaurant while they made up the little bed. Hotel employees knocked on the door at 5:15 to wake us. We went to the hotel restaurant, were guided up the street to get life jackets, and brought back to the beach to our waiting boat. Our boat driver lead us, before dawn our into the ocean and told us we would wait, that the dolphins would arrive with the sun. We noticed many other little boats like ours headed out from shore as well. Soon there were hundreds of little boats just waiting to see the dolphins. The sun rose, and sure enough, we started seeing little glimpses of dolphins! A top fin here, a partial jump there it was amazing. As soon as a little boat noticed dolphin activity they fired up their engine and raced toward the dolphins they identified. When this happened, all the others would face to the same spot. It became a game of who could get there first. The mass of boats would chase the dolphin pod under water and away each time. It was fun, and we thoroughly enjoyed our selves, but it was not the quiet and serene experience we had been expecting. After our 1.5 hour boat ride, we came back for our complimentary breakfast. Our driver had mechanical issues, so we sat in the restaurant while we waited for him. We left soon after, and headed to Bali's highest waterfall. The trail to it was easier than other waterfalls we had hiked to in Bali. We bought a couple of things from vendors on our way back up. Their prices weren't bad and they were willing to barter. We went from there to a temple. The weather was foggy and raining on top of the mountain where the temple was. Our guide/driver lent us 2 umbrellass. We didn't see much due to the weather. We ate lunch at the buffet there It was reasonably priced. Then our driver took us back to our south Bali accommodation. We had fun.
