2 Day herbal plants expedition at a thatched house village in northern Kyoto

Itinerary

Day 1: Visit a medicinal herb garden and make your own tea by using locally harvested wild plants

Stop At: Kayabuki-no-sato Kitamura, Miyamacho Kita, Nantan 601-0712 Kyoto Prefecture
Miyama is located 1.5 hours away from Kyoto city, known for its well preserved thatched house hamlet .Traditional knowledge on wild plants, utilization of natural resources are still alive in this village, along with the landscape with full of natural beauty.

You will visit a medicinal herb garden producing various unique products by using dried wild herbs harvested in their garden, and learn about traditional medicinal herbs rooted in Japan, making medicinal herbal tea from the plants naturally grown in the garden. Also meals using wild plants will be served by local villagers.

• Lunch: Meal using plenty of locally harvested wild herbs at the medicinal herb garden
• Dinner: At the thatched house accommodation
Accommodation included: Overnight at the kayabuki thatched house

Day 2: Guide walk with a local guide in thatched house hamlet

Stop At: Kayabuki-no-sato Kitamura, Miyamacho Kita, Nantan 601-0712 Kyoto Prefecture
After breakfast at the accommodation, your local guide will pick you up to show around the village. You may wish to visit the fork art museum, or the little indigo museum in the village (Optional).
