Day 1: Travel from Kyoto station to Shiga
Stop At: Miho Museum, 300 Shigarakicho Tashiro Momotani, Koka 529-1814 Shiga Prefecture
Nestled deep in the mountains of Shigaraki an hour away from Kyoto, visiting Miho Museum is a completely off-the-beaten experience. the glass pyramid building was designed by a Chinese American Architect, I. M. Pei, who created his version of mythical earthly paradise in the deep valley. There are over 2000 pieces collection, of which approximately 250 are displayed at any time.

Shigaraki village is known as one of 'The Six Old Kilns' in Japan. The origin of the village dates back to Emperor Shomu's Palace in 742, and the kiln was developed during the medieval period. The earliest kiln date back to 1278. You can enjoy the hidden medieval village of pottery artists.
