The original texture and the refined sweetness are said to addict people. Now it is a standard gift from Kyoto and bought by the majority of tourists visiting Kyoto.
You can take home two types of Yatsuhashi; one baked by yourself and the other baked by factory. Change into a Happi coat called 'Obebe,' wear a cap and gloves. You will have a lecture on the tools, materials, and how to bake Yatsuhashi. You will bake 16 pieces of Yatsuhashi by yourself according to the procedure.
