Stop At: Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, 68 Fukakusa Yabunouchicho, Fushimi, Kyoto 612-0882 Kyoto Prefecture
Upon arrival at your first stop around 10:00am, the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine, you will tour for about an hour. The Fushimi Inari Shrine is the head shrine for some 30,000 Inari shrines all across Japan. It is especially famous for its seemingly endless 1,000 vermilion shrine torii (gates). Fushimi Inari was dedicated to the Gods of agriculture. Afterward, you will head toward the Kiyomizu temple at 11:20.

Prepare to be amazed by 1,001 figures of Kannon (The Goddes of Mercy) carved in the 12th and 13th centuries. Sanjusangendo or Rengeo-in was founded in 1164 and rebuilt a century later after the original structure had been destroyed in a fire. Not only 1,001 figures of Kannon, Sanjusangendo temple itself is beautiful with its vermilion columns.

Stop At: Nijo Castle, 541 Nijojocho, Nijodori Horikawa-nishiiru, Nakagyo, Kyoto 604-8301 Kyoto Prefecture
Nijo Castle or Nijojo, is former Kyoto residence of the shogun. It was built in 1603. Before being donated to the city and opened up to the public as a historic site, Nijojo was used as an imperial palace for a while. The exterior; the wide moat, massive stone walls, and heavy yet elaborate gates are still impressive, and were the only fortifications the inhabitants felt necessary, so firm was their grip on power. Not only powerful exterior, inside the palace are several masterpieces of Japanese art, most notably the painted screens of the main chamber.

Nara Park is famous for the 1,200 or so wild deer that live freely within the park. Within Nara Park you will find the Todai-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
