Full-Day Blue Falls Canyon Tour From La Fortuna

Following a hotel pick-up around 8am, your guide will provide you with the gear you need for the Blue Fall Canyon river exploration. You will get a life-vest, a helmet, a carabiner cord and a water bag with drinks and snacks. Optional are a thermo shirt and watershoes. After a (safety) instruction you start the hike that goes through forest and (muddy) farmland and takes you to the canyon and river. Once there we hike to a huge 150ft waterfall and its stunning blue pool. Because of its volcanic origin the water doesn’t have a normal color but is a clear shade of blue. Giant moss covered boulders are dotted through the river and twisting vines hang down from the sides of the canyon. You will be walking alongside and through the river towards a stunning 50mtr high waterfall. This waterfall, the circular pool and imposing walls that surround it, are the beginning of the huge canyon. You will take your time to enjoy this stunning scenery and  the super cool water of the blue pool.
You will now continue your way wading through the river. This will take you to a series of smaller waterfalls and other blue pools. You can do jumps double the height or just swim and observe others enjoying this. Up until a certain point you can participate in the tour without getting wet and you can hike along with others that take the river route. From the third pool (the cave pool) this won't be possible anymore and only the ones willing to fully immerse can continue. The canyon will get narrower and we will explore this part of the canyon. This last and most amazing part of the canyon is totally exclusive for the customers of the Blue Falls Canyon tour, only our guides and customers are allowed here.
