Stop At: Plaza Murillo, La Paz Bolivia

Our trip will get started early at 9:00 am in the main square of the city, Plaza Murillo, in front of the stone book statue.

Learn about the history of Bolivia’s wars, wealth and nature at this important plaza with your guide, before starting off your day with a traditional tasty mid-morning snack.

Your guide will lead the way to the San Pedro Prison giving you insights about why we have included this interesting landmark in the trip. Walk by the prison walls, on your way visit several local marketplaces that are bursting with Bolivian culture.

Learn about the thousands of different types of Andean potatoes, walking along to the local Market and visit one street where people sell potatoes in endless assortments included fresh and dehydrated varieties that are making specifically for traditional local cuisine that you will taste in the afternoon.

Continue by local transportation where you will be the only foreigner in sight to reach an unknown and spectacular scenic overlook point. Take unforgettable photos of the stunning views and take a moment to reflect on the life going on below you in La Paz.

Also take a moment to walk around the local Witch Market, located in a hidden part, where you can know your fortune told by a Shaman who specializes in Coca Leaf readings or walk around to find a magic potion to cure you of all ills.

On way back downtown, continue to have lunch in a restaurant serving fresh fish from nearby Lake Titicaca and a famous traditional potato stew.

Afterwards, visit other local restaurant to taste an exquisite traditional Bolivian soup made from dehydrated potatoes that will warm your soul.

From there, continue on foot to the Camacho Market for a fresh fruit salad for desert. Remember that Bolivia is well known for its organic fruit that is grown throughout the country. And create a unique combination by choosing any fruit and yogurt you could dream of.

Save some space, because next stop is a Bolivian Chocolate Shop where you can nibble on delicious chocolate samples of every type!

So, the adventure continue, take a moment to watch La Paz in 360° from a beautiful scenic overlook middle point where you can take unforgettable photos to remember this incredible day.

After this big day, we’ll make one last stop to taste Bolivia’s special hot drink called “api” that’s made out of purple corn, cloves, cinnamon and lime, you are gonna love it!, or, if you prefer you can drink a “Sultana Tea”, made from sun-dried, lightly toasted coffee cherries, mixed with cinnamon sticks. Also known as “poor man’s coffee”, this tea has about 20% of the caffeine of normal coffee with a sweet flavor.

With a full belly and a happy heart, our trip will come to an end at San Francisco Church around 16:30 p.m. depending on group pace and traffic.
