Day 1: La Paz - Uyuni (D)
The service starts with pick up from your Hotel in La Paz, (1 hour before the bus departure time) to take a night bus to Uyuni that leaves at 8:30 p.m.
The bus that we select is TODO TOURISMO COMPANY, one of the most comfortable with reclining seats (semicama), with bath on board, assistance in English and small dinner included.
Day 2: Uyuni- Salt Flats - Uyuni - La Paz (B, L , D )
Itinerary:
• 07:30 am Pick up from Bus Station from TODO TURISMO.
• 08:00 Breakfast and Shower in Uyuni.
• 10:30am - Departure from the city of Uyuni to visit the Train Cemetery, and then go to the salt lake
• 11am - Make a brief stop in the town of Colchani, where you will pass the processing plant for artisan salt
• 12pm - Enter the Salar to visit waterholes, observe the extraction of salt, and visit the Playa Blanca Hotel (one of the first hotels in the Salar)
• 12:30pm - Lunch in the middle of Salar de Uyuni
• 1:30pm - Visit Incahuasi Island where you see the famous giant cactus
• 3:30pm - Arrive at the foot of Tunupa Volcano to take pictures, see flamingos, and watch the sunset
• 5:30pm - Sunset at the Salar de Uyuni (accompanied by a courtesy wine)
• 7:00pm - Return to Uyuni
• 7:30 pm - We take the Bus back to La Paz.

You’re better off booking Todo Turismo yourself and picking your own seat(s). We did not get Todo Turismo on our way to Uyuni, instead it was an old bus (not what we paid for) and without anyone there to help us, plus we had to pay for a ‘terminal fee’. What!! There was no tour guide till the Saltflat tour. The sunset is at 7:30pm during December through March, but your bus leaves at 8pm, so there’s no chance of having that wine at sunset. We spoke to the tour operator regarding pickup/drop off at our hotel in LaPaz after the tour BUT no one was there - we even waited one hour. We tried calling the operator but he was not answering anymore. Don’t get me wrong, 80% of our experience was great except for the things mentioned. I hope this helps the next traveller.
In short, the service experienced on this tour was poor. For example, the bus service that took me to La Paz was not a Todo Turismo bus as advertised. Instead, it was a local bus service that had none of the amenities or services of a Todo Turismo bus. While the services in La Paz were adequate, missing was dinner, snacks, and complimentary wine, all of which were supposed to be part of the package. Also, it is advertised that you will view sunset at salt flats at 5:30 pm. However, this was not the case as sunset was at 7:15 pm, which I was not able to view because I had to catch the bus back to La Paz at 8:30 pm. Furthermore, on my return to La Paz, the hotel drop did not happen, forcing me to pay for a taxi to my hotel. More problematic, though, is the inadequate response from Joker Expedition, who have dragged the feet in offering a refund of any kind.
