About this activity
Your PADI Discover Scuba Diving program begins at 8.30 am at the dive club located inside Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach. There you’ll meet your dive instructor, a certified PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) professional. You will fill out all of the necessary documentation and a medical questionnaire. The program is broken into three parts: a theory session, a pool session, and an ocean dive.
At 9:00 am you will watch an informative video about basics of scuba diving and complete a simple quiz. Afterwards, around 11:30 am you will start the pool session. Under the watchful eye of your instructor, practice basic diving skills and get familiar with the tank, BCD, regulator, mask, and other diving equipment. Learn how to control your buoyancy and breathe underwater!
In the afternoon around 2:30 pm, you will prepare equipment and head with your instructor to a private beach to start your first open ocean dive. After entering the water with the instructor, you will check your new skills during an open-water dive up to 12 meters. As you discover the amazing experience of swimming with colorful fish around the Ancora Reef or Coral Garden, you’ll be a converted diving lover! At the end of your dive, you will receive a recognition certificate!

- Confirmation will be received at time of booking
- Minimum age is 10 years
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Not recommended for pregnant women and participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions
- Diving within 24 hours of flying is not recommended
- All participants are required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving; some pre-existing medical conditions (e.g. asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving; please consult your doctor
- Dive is subject to weather conditions
- It is recommended that you bring/wear your swimsuit, sunscreen, a hat, towel and water. You may also bring packed snacks
