About this activity
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. The fun part about this course is . . . well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible. You breathe underwater for the first time (something you'll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, you'll make at least five pool dives and four dives at local dive sites under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
• Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
• Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
• Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!During your course you will have 5 theory classes with provided by us materials (videos, book, exercises), 5 pool sessions during which you will practice basic scuba diving skills and 4 open water dives from the boat. During whole experience you will be accompanied by professional PADI Instructor.
The course will finish with written exam, after which you will be come certified PADI Open Water Diver. This certification is recognized around the world and will allow you to dive up to 18 meters in the open waters

- Before joining the activity you have to visit ScubaCaribe Water Sports Centre located at the beach of Dreams La Romana Hotel. You will be asked to complete registration form and health questionnaire (PADI Medical Statement: goo.gl/shnTGX) Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor. During this visit you will be informed about the first appointment of your course.
- Minimum age is 10 years
- Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
