Zion National Park with Bryce Canyon hiking adventure
A trip to Zion’s would be incomplete if you don’t hike Angels Landing, consistently ranked among one the world’s greatest hikes. Ascend along a steep trail which has literally been cut into the face of a vertical cliff. A third of the way up, the trail passes into a cool grotto and then up the switch backs known as Walters Wiggles. Half way up we reach Scout lookout, then on to the final push. You will hike along a fin with 700’ drops on either side of you. But don’t worry, the trail is plenty wide to feel secure, and the NPS has placed hip high chains to hold along the more treacherous parts. After your hike, you will stop in Springdale for a well earned lunch.
From Springdale, drive to one of Utah’s most iconic National Parks, Bryce Canyon. It feels like you have entered an other worldly landscape. Park on top of the canyon, and as you approach, the entire area stretches out below, full of incredible formations. Hoodoo’s, cliffs, mini arches and canyons painted in hues of red, orange and cream with tall pinion pines adding a splash of green.
For the rest of the afternoon you will descend into the canyon on the Queens Garden Trail. As you wind through areas such as Queens Garden, Wall of Windows and The Cathedral, you will be in awe. Sunset will bring an incredible change as the light changes and the canyon seems to glow.
After Bryce you'll be driven back to Springdale.
