About this activity
Day 1: Bay of Fires, Cheese Tasting & Bicheno

Depart Launceston at 8 am. The Bay of Fires has to be seen to be believed – consistently rated as one of the world's best beaches, it's a place that everyone loves but few have visited. On the way there, taste some great local cheese from Pyengana. Later, you'll have a chance to try some fantastic Tasmanian oysters. Tonight you can walk to the beach to see little penguins come ashore.

Overnight: Seaview at Bicheno

Day 2: Wineglass Bay, Freycinet National Park & Kate's Berry Farm

Today you'll have the opportunity to visit a wildlife sanctuary to see the rescued animals, including the Tasmanian devil (extra cost). After that, visit the Freycinet National Park and famous Wineglass Bay. With hours to explore, you can go up for a dramatic view or down to the gleaming white beach. In the afternoon, drive down the coast, with a stop at famous Kate's Berry Farm.

Overnight: Tassie Backpackers

Day 3: Bruny Island

Just a short ferry ride from the Tasmanian mainland, spectacular Bruny Island is a feast for the senses. First up, taste delicious cheese at the award-winning Bruny Island Cheese Company. Next, go to the narrow isthmus joining the north and south parts of the island and walk up the staircase to the Neck Lookout, with incredible 360-degree views. At Cape Bruny, try to spot Bruny’s famous white wallabies, then walk to the lighthouse and watch the surf roll in. At Adventure Bay, choose between the beautiful Fluted Cape walk or an award-winning Bruny Island Cruise (extra cost). Local oysters can be purchased at Get Shucked on the drive back to the ferry.

Overnight: Tassie Backpackers

Day 4: Richmond, Tasman Peninsula & Port Arthur

The historic village of Richmond is your morning stop. The colonial architecture of Australia’s oldest bridge and oldest Catholic Church both feature on the walk around the village. Further on you will reach the dramatic scenery of the Tasman Peninsula with the plunging cliffs of Tasman National Park, quirky Doo Town, and the spectacular views at Eaglehawk Neck. This is the place where Tasmania's convict heritage intersects with its stunning natural beauty. The highlight of the day is the opportunity to check out the former prison settlement of Port Arthur Historic Site. There’s no rush, with around 3 hours of time to see the sights with a guided walking tour and harbor cruise included. Lunch can be purchased on site. On the way to Hobart, visit the family-operated Federation Chocolate factory and see the chocolate-making process. Of course there is also an opportunity to taste the delicious hand-made chocolate produced here too!

Arrive in Hobart city at approximately 6:30 pm or Hobart Airport at around 6 pm.
