About this activity

Where the Murgia plateau ends, begins Valle D'Itria, a green valley halfway between the Adriatic and the Ionian sea and inland. Join the tour to discover Trulli and white towns, green valleys and olive groves.

Reach your destination in the morning on a comfortable, airconditioned 9-seater van conducted by a professional driver, who will share his love for the territory with you.

First stop in Polignano a Mare and be enchanted by its uniqueness, by its cliffs overlooking the sea and the historic center that tells you about the civilizations that have inhabited these places, as well as by the food and wine of the area. Polignano is the only Italian destination of those selected by CNN among the 52 beaches and the 12 most beautiful places in the world.

The tour continues to Alberobello, one of the 54 Italian sites included by UNESCO in the World Heritage List and the capital of the famous Trulli. The historical center is in fact made up entirely of these particular pyramid-shaped buildings that make it unique in the world. The Trulli, mainly present in the Valle D'Itria, date back to the mid-fourteenth century and are still built today as homes and a brilliant longlasting example of spontaneous architecture.

Next stop is Locorotondo with its flowered balconies, one of the most beautiful ancient villages in Italy. The name Locorotondo originates from the morphology taken by the first inhabited center, which was built around the year one thousand. The centuries-old winemaking vocation of the village is reflected in the production of high-quality white wines, such as the famous Bianco Locorotondo Doc.

Continue to Ostuni, also known as the White City due to its quaint old town that was once entirely painted with white lime. Ostuni is a fascinating tangle of narrow and winding streets, a succession of courtyards, squares and alleyways. On the top of the hill stands the Cathedral, an admirable synthesis of Romanesque, Gothic and Venetian elements, which dominates the plain covered with centuries-old olive trees up to the sea. Free lunch: the driver will be happy to show you the best places to taste good local cuisine.
