PHYANG TO HUNDAR TREK

Itinerary

Day 1: :- Delhi - Leh (Complete Rest in Leh for acclimatisation)

Stop At: Leh Market, Main Bazaar Rd, Leh 194101 India
Take the morning flight for Leh. Check into the hotel and relax the whole day. This is necessary for getting acclimatised. Overnight at the hotel
Duration: 3 hours

Day 2: Leh Monasteries (Hemis, Thiksey, Shey)

Stop At: Hemis Monastery, Hemis India
After breakfast you will drive towards to Hemis Gompa, one of the most famous of Ladakh’s monasteries, dates back to the 17th century and was built over a period of 40 years (1602 – 1642 A.D.). During the Festival, masked dances held every year in summer On the road back to Leh you stop to visit Thiksey Monastery, which is one of the most vibrant and active monasteries in the region. It dates back to the 16th century and is part of the Gelug-pa Sect. 3 kms ahead of Thiksey you will visit Shey Palace. Overlooking a small lake, the palace and fortification of Shey was the site of one of the former capitals of Ladakh. After the visit you return to Leh and uvernight stay at your Hotel.

Day 3: Leh to Phyang Camp 4800m

Stop At: Phyang Gompa, Phyang, Jammu and Kashmir 194101
We leave early for our to Phyang where we meet our crew and trek for three days hours in a high
alpine valley near the only pass on our trek, The Lasermo La. Overnight in the Camp

Duration: 3 hours

Day 4: Phyang Camp to Lasermo High Camp 4600m

Pass By: Stok Kangri, Leh 194201 India
Up and away early for an easy climb to the pass at 5400m, from where we have views of the Stok rangebehind and the Karakoram ahead. Then a descent-possibly on snow to our high pasture camp. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Lasermo High Camp to Drok Yokma 4200m

Pass By: Hunder Sand Dunes, Hunder 194401 India
An easy three-hour walk to enjoy this high valley and it’s wild flowers.

Day 6: Drok Yokma to Hunder Drok 4000m

Pass By: Hunder Sand Dunes, Hunder 194401 India
Again an easy day, strolling through pastures fed by the glacial melt of the Lasermo La.

Day 7: Hunder Drok to Hunder 3500m

Pass By: Hunder Sand Dunes, Hunder 194401 India
An amazing day: forest valleys, steep hillsides, then we reach the end of a valley guarded by ancient forts. Ahead of us the snow peaks of the Karakoram and below the old silk road oasis of Hunder. We camp in a grove of willows.

Day 8: Hunder to Leh

Pass By: Khardung La, India
Once you reach Khardung La, you can gorge over hot soup and bread at one of the shacks there. There is some stunning scenery enroute, as you cross tiny villages, glacial rivers, monasteries and terraced fields that will surprise you with their sudden bursts of green. If visited in right season.overnight at hotel

Day 9: Leh to delhi

Transfer to the airport for the spectacular flight across the main chain of the Himalaya to Delhi
