Stop At: Keeneland, 4201 Versailles Rd, Lexington, KY 40510-9648

This 3-hour tour generally includes a walking tour of the ivy-covered grounds of historic Keeneland Race Course, home to the planet’s most expensive horse auctions. Take a peek into the thoroughbred horse lifestyle as you go behind the scenes to explore a thoroughbred farm and visit up close and personal with their famous horses. Take a drive by the famous Calumet Farm where you'll see and hear the history of the farm; home of a breeding and racing dynasty that dominated the sport of kings during the 1940’s, 1950’s and beyond. See where scenes from the major motion pictures Secretariat, Seabiscuit and Dreamer were filmed and then visit the grave site of a very famous race horse.

Please note: During race meets in April and October (Wednesday through Sunday), 12:30 pm tours will visit an alternate venue in place of Keeneland.

Our tour guide Vicky provided us with a wealth of knowledge covering the history of the area, derby horse racing, all aspects of thoroughbreds and much more. The transportation was comfortable with plenty of opportunities to get out and see the sites. She made our tour so enjoyable! I highly recommend.

Our guide Mike was the most knowledgeable guide I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. The horses and the farm people were extremely gracious and of course the horses were beautiful. Fantastic drive

We really enjoyed the Thoroughbred Horse Farm tour. Daniel was an excellent tour guide, and we learned so much about the farms, jockeys, races etc. We followed his advice and went to an early morning practice the next day, and several other suggestions he made, it really rounded out our Lexington stay. We recommend!!

This tour was wonderful. The biggest reason the tour was so great was our fantastic tour guide. Nicolas was great because he is part of the horse business. He shared his experiences and was able to answer any question we asked. He was super knowledgeable!! WOW, what an interesting life and business! The kids loved him, too. He was great about answering their questions in a way they could understand and he made the tour fun. KUDOS to Nicolas!
