About this activity
Day 1: Lhasa - Namtso Lake

Meet your guide at 8:30am at the meeting point in central Lhasa and climb into your Tibetan vehicle for the journey to Lake Namtso, 70 miles (112 km) away. Drive through the Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain range and admire the scenic views peppered with grazing yak and sheep. Namtso Lake is one of the four holy lakes of Tibet and also contains the highest concentration of salt. On arrival, take a walk with your guide around the lakeside and Tashi Island.

Stay overnight at a traditional Tibetan guesthouse, and the next morning visit the lake for a trek to Tashi Dor Island.

Day 2: Namtso Lake - Lhasa

Explore the meditation caves belonging to the small monastery on the island, which are still in use today. Then drive to Dumxung for lunch before an optional trip to the Yangpachen Hot Springs. Situated at the foot of a glacier, Yangpachen's indoor and outdoor swimming pools are fed with water from the hot spring and offer a unique opportunity to bath or swim in warm water at the foot of grand snow mountains, 4,200 meters above sea level.

At the end of the tour, your guide will return you to the original departure point in Lhasa. Please note that all meals on both days are at your own expense, but your guide will be able to give you ideas and recommendations.
