Day 1: Arrival In Lhasa (3680m)

Day 2: Lhasa Suburb

Pass By: Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si), Southern Slope of Genpeiwuzi Mountain, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
Today’s first attraction is to visit Drepung Monastery which is the world's largest monastery that housed for more than 10,000 monks; it was the resident of the Dalai Lama. After lunch, you will continue to visit the Sera Monastery which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje.

The most attractive thing of Sera Monastery is the Buddhist Scriptures debating held in the courtyard between 15:00 - 17:00 from Monday to Saturday.

Day 3: Lhasa City

Pass By: Potala Palace, No.35 Gongqian Alley, Beijing Middle Road Cheng Guan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In the morning our guide will meet you at the hotel and first take you to visit the famous Potala Palace, the cardinal landmark of Tibet and the masterpiece of Tibetan architecture, which was first built by 33rd King Songtsen Gangpo in the 7th century and rebuilt later in the 17th century by 5th Dalai Lama. And now it is a museum and world heritage site.

Pass By: Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In the afternoon, we will go to visit Jokhang Temple in the center of the old Lhasa city. Jokhang Temple is one of the most sacred temples in all over Tibet and it is always bustling with earnest local pilgrims since from early days. After that you will take a walk around the Barkhor street which is one of the most devotional circuit as well as a crowded central market of Lhasa, Barkhor Street located in the old area of Lhasa City in Tibet, which is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the locals are always proud of it. As a symbol of Lhasa, it is also a must-see place for visitors.

Day 4: Lhasa- Gyantse(4040m)- Shigatse(3840m), 360km, Approx 6hrs

Pass By: Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, Langkazi Country, Nagarze County 851100 China
We will pass by Gampala pass (4794m) on the way from Lhasa to Shigatse and visit Yamdrok Lake. Covering 638km², Yamdrok Lake is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams.

Pass By: Karola Glacier, Junction of Ngarzhag County and Gyantse County, Nagarze County 851100 China
Later we will pass and enjoy the Karola Glacier on the roadside; it is about 300m from the main highway with easy access on your way to GyantseThen visit the main monastery in Gyantse - Pelkor Chode Monastery. Pelkhor Choede in Gyantse town is located about 230km to the south of Lhasa and 100km to the east of Shigatse. The monastery is a short walk from the heart of the town.

Day 5: Shigatse-Lhasa, 300km, Approx 5hrs

Pass By: Tashilunpo Monastery, Jijilangka Road, Shigatse 857001 China
In the morning, we will visit the home of Panchen Lama - Tashilunpo Monastery, which was founded by the 1st Dalai Lama in 1447. It is a historic and culturally important monastery in Shigatse and also the second-largest city in Tibet. It's located on a hill in the center of the city. The full name in Tibetan of the monastery means "all fortune and happiness gathered here" or "heap of glory". For the trip back to Lhasa in the later afternoon, we will provide you two solutions which will be decided by Great Tibet Tour.

Option A: Drive from Shigatse – Lhasa;

Option B: Train from Shigatse – Lhasa;

For Option B, the guide will accompany you to take a taxi to Shigatse Railway Station, and take the train from Shigatse to Lhasa. And upon your arrival in Lhasa, we will arrange you to be dropped off at your hotel. The taxi & train fare is included in the cost.

Day 6: Depart From Lhasa

Pass By: Great Tibet Tour, China, Xizang Zizhiqu, Lasa Shi, Chengguan Qu, No.674, Group 3, Lalu Community, Xuexin Village Street
Today your guide and driver will escort you to the airport or railway station for your next destination. Before your departure, we will appreciate if you can spend a few minutes to evaluate our services either by filling the feedback form or simply send us an email when you back home. Your whole trip officially ended.

Tibet Tourism Bureau Permit (TTB) usually takes about 12-working-day to apply. If you couldn’t provide the required docs & info on time, an extra abt USD 50~80/permit will be charged;
We reserve the right to change the itinerary order and attractions in Lhasa;
If you prefer to book your own hotels over those included in our group tour, please meet the rest of the group at their daily hotel on time. We don’t include the transfers to your own hotels;
We need to pick up and drop off all members of the group on first & last day from Lhasa Airport/Railway, thus there may not always have guide presence but driver;
Due to the special nature of Tibet travel, any unforeseeable and unavoidable objective circumstances, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, riot, civil commotion, strikes, public health emergencies, government action, major traffic jams, delay or cancellation of flight/train, attractions temporarily closed. etc., resulting in a change of itinerary, the increased cost will be paid by travelers; if any attraction visits have to be canceled due to the same reasons above, we won't be held responsible for a refund except certain attraction entrance fee which will be solely decided by us.
Single Supplement: our quote is based on twin rooms. For single travelers, single supplement is required at the time of booking. If later we manage to match you with another traveler to share the twin rooms, the single supplement will be refunded.
