Itinerary

Day 1: DAY1. ARRIVE TO LHASA

Pass By: Lhasa Amusement Park, No.30-32 Sela Road, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
You will be met at the Lhasa airport or train station by your Tibetan guide and transferred to the hotel, elevation 3600 meters. You can then explore the nearby Old Town of Lhasa and the markets lining Barkhor Square.

Day 2: DAY2. LHASA

Stop At: Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
After breakfast, you will visit the Jokhang, the holiest Buddhist temple in all of the Himalaya. Each day, many thousands of Buddhist pilgrims come here to worship. Many have traveled well over a thousand kilometers by foot to see this 1400-year-old temple. After lunch, you will visit the 600-year-old huge monastery complex of Sera. While at Sera, you watch the monks engage in entertaining Buddhist philosophical debates. In the evening, you will have free time to wander around the Old Town on your own.

Day 3: DAY3. LHASA

Stop At: Potala Palace, No.35 Gongqian Alley, Beijing Middle Road Cheng Guan District, Lhasa 850000 China
Today you will start your day by visiting the massive 1000 room Potala Palace, the most iconic building in Tibet. You will work your way up the steps of the Potala and then go through the most important rooms in this famous UNESCO site. After lunch, you will explore the beauties of the summer palace of Dalai Lama ( Norbulingka Palace ) after visiting many monasteries, its a great option to visit summer palace where Travelers can visit more than three palaces. In the late afternoon and evening, you will have free time to explore Lhasa on your own or do some souvenir shopping.

Day 4: DAY4. LHASA YAMDROK LAKE KARO LA GLACIER GYANTSE SHIGATSE ( 360KM ) 7 HOURS ( 3950M)

Stop At: Tashilunpo Monastery, Jijilangka Road, Shigatse 857001 China
You will depart Lhasa in the early morning and drive through the scenic Yarlung River Valley towards Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok is one of Tibet’s 4 main holy lakes and is regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in the Himalaya. From the Kamba La Pass, you get a panoramic view of this spectacular lake with the nearby mountains.

Next, you will drive along the lake shore to Nankartse, where you will stop for lunch. Next, you will begin ascending again to the stunning Karo La Glacier. Here, you can get an up-close view of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang and the glaciers coming off of it.

We visit the Ralung monastery, which was once the biggest Buddhist college in Tibet and home of many great Tibetan Yogis from Drukpa Kagyu sect including Jetsun Ling Repa, Jetsun Tsangpa Gyare, Jetsun Tsang Nyon, Jetun U Nyon, Jetsun Drukpa Kunley. They are no tourist and sometimes not even locals so Ralung monastery is one of the most peaceful monasteries with beautiful landscape.

Your next stop is the pleasant town of Gyantse where you will visit the massive Gyantse Kumbum Stupa as well as the Pelkhor Chode Monastery. You will then continue to Shigatse, elevation 3840 meters, and stay at the 4 Star Gesar Hotel. Total driving distance is 350 kilometers. Total driving time is 7 hours

Day 5: DAY5. SHIGATSE TO YUNGDRUNGLING BON MONASTERY AND TO LHASA ( 300KM ) 5-6 HOURS ( 3650M)

Stop At: Tashilunpo Monastery, Jijilangka Road, Shigatse 857001 China
In the morning, you will be free time in Shigatse to exploration Tashilhunpo monastery. One of the biggest Gelugpa sects collage in Shigatse. In the Tashilhunpo monastery, you will visit the big statue of the future Buddha which is the main relic of the monastery.

From Shigatse, we will travel to Lhasa through the northern friendship highway via visiting the biggest Bon monastery in Tibet( Yungdrungling Bon monastery ) Bon is the first and native religion of Tibetans, Buddhism was flourishing in Tibet after many centuries from the flourish of Bon. It will be interesting to visit the native Tibetan religion monastery for Travelers since we will visit many Buddhist monasteries on the tour.

On the way, we will enjoy the beauties of Yarlung Tsangpo Brahma Putra river and many villages of Rinpung and Nyemo town. Spent the night in Lhasa.

Day 6: DAY6. DAY TRIP FROM LHASA TO GANDEN MONASTERY AND DRAK YERBA MEDITATION CAVES ( 140KM ) 3-4 HOURS ( 3650M)

Stop At: Ganden Monastery, Wangori Mountain, Dazi County, Lhasa 850100 China
Today in the morning we drive to Ganden monastery, located around 1-hour drive from Lhasa towards east. There is a beautiful 2 hours kora hike where Travelers can see the whole view of nature and valley, also its the place where many great masters of Ganden monastery meditation before with only a few clothes even during the rainy season so there is lots of blessing.

After Ganden monastery, drive around 1-2 hour to Drakyerpa meditation caves to meditate and visit the meditation caves of great masters including Guru Rinpoche, Guru Atisha, and King Srongtsen Gampo.

Day 7: DAY7. DEPART LHASA

In the morning, you will be transferred to the Lhasa airport or train station where the Tibet Travelers tour in Tibet ends.
