Itinerary

Day 1: DAY1. LHASA ARRIVAL

Pass By: Lhasa Railway Station, Liuwu Country, Doilungdeqen County 851400 China
Upon arrival in Lhasa, you will be welcomed by your English-speaking Tibetan Guide and Tibetan Driver who will bring you to your hotel. Acclimatization to high altitude: please, drink lots of water and take plenty of rest in order to minimize altitude sickness.

Day 2: DAY2. LHASA TOUR WITH LOCAL GUIDE

Stop At: Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In Lhasa (3700m) we explore the Jokhang Temple, the most sacred monastery in Tibet, and the surrounding Bharkor bazaar, the bustling Lhasa market. In the afternoon we go to Sera Monastery to watch the monks debate in a centuries-old manner.

Day 3: DAY3. LHASA TOUR WITH LOCAL GUIDE

Stop At: Potala Palace, No.35 Gongqian Alley, Beijing Middle Road Cheng Guan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In Lhasa (3700m) we tour the Potala Palace, the winter palace of the Dalai Lama built in the 17th century by the fifth Dalai Lama, and Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, built in the 18th century by the seventh Dalai Lama.

Day 4: DAY4. LHASA–YAMDROK LAKE - GYANTSE - SHIGATSE 360 KM

Stop At: Tashilunpo Monastery, Jijilangka Road, Shigatse 857001 China
Morning drive up to Kampala pass [4794m], you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-Tso and spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar in the distance, the turquoise coloured Lake Yamdrok Yutso is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, the unforgettable vista of pincer-shaped turquoise water of the lake and amazing spectacle of Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar glacier from Karo la pass is wonders of the day.

We visit the Ralung monastery, which was once the biggest Buddhist college in Tibet and home of many great Tibetan Yogis from Drukpa Kagyu sect including Jetsun Ling Repa, Jetsun Tsangpa Gyare, Jetsun Tsang Nyon, Jetun U Nyon, Jetsun Drukpa Kunley. They are no tourist and sometimes not even locals so Ralung monastery is one of the most peaceful monasteries with beautiful landscape.

Then along the Friendship southern Hwy drive to Gyantse, visit the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumbum, one of the most stunning architectural wonders in Tibet. Late afternoon drive to Shigatse via visiting Shalu monastery, which has one of the best wall painting in Tibet.

Day 5: DAY5. SHIGATSE–SAKYA MONASTERY-PELBER (NEW TINGRI) 290 KM

Stop At: Sakya Monastery, Basiba Road, Sa'gya County 857800 China
After breakfast, we visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, to see the future Buddha’s golden shrine. The Tashilhunpo Monastery is the seat of the Panchen Lama, the 2nd highest in the Tibetan Buddhist religious hierarchy.

We leave Shigatse and drive to Shegar across Tsou-la Pass (4500m) and Gyatso-la Pass (5220m), with good weather you can see your first views of Mt. Everest. At the end of the day’s 230km journey, we arrive in the evening at Pelber (New Tingri) (4300m).

Day 6: DAY6. PELBAR–RONGBUK MONASTERY- EVEREST BASE CAMP 100 KM

Stop At: Mt. Everest Base Camp, kathmandu, Thamel, Tingri County 858200 China
On the scenic drive from Pelber to Mount Everest Base Camp, we will cross the Geu la​ Pass( 5200M) and see the view of 4 mountains above 8000M plus, such as Mt. Lhotse (8516), Mt. Everest ( 8848M), Mt. Cho-Oyo (8201M), and Mt.Makalu ( 8463M) We then arrive at Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, 4km from Everest Basecamp. The 100km drive takes approximately 4 hours due to unpaved roads.

The new rule to protect the environment of Everest national park, Travelers can only reach to the Rongbuk monastery, which is 4km before the previous camp.

Accommodation included: Yak hair tea tent dorm off-season from November to March at Rongbuk monastery dorm (No private bathroom and no shower)

Day 7: DAY7. RONGBUK MONASTERY–KYIRONG TOWN 285 KM

Stop At: Mt. Everest Base Camp, kathmandu, Thamel, Tingri County 858200 China
Enjoying the Mount Everest under stars in the night. This morning after sunset at Mount Everest, we drive to Kyirong, crossing over Lalung-la Pass at (5,050m) and, taking in beautiful panoramas of the Himalayan Range including the Mt. Everest (8,848m).

On the way we will pass by Phikutso Lake and see the view of Mt. Shishapangma ( 8201M) only Mountain above 8000M fully planted in Tibet.

After arriving Kyirong, Travelers will have a rest day and prepare for border crossing the next day.

Day 8: DAY8. KYIRONG TOWN / NEPAL BORDER / RASUWA GADHI / KATHMANDU 180 KM

Stop At: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
After breakfast, drive from Kyirong town to the border checkpoint 25 km via applying for Nepal visa upon arrival and cross the border by foot to Rasuwa Gadhi. Our Travel agent partner in Nepal will be waiting at the border with a private jeep for Travelers and travel to Kathmandu.
