Private 8-Day Tibet Tour from Lhasa Including Everest Base Camp

Private
About this activity
Your Tibetan adventure with your own private local guide starts in the capital city of Lhasa and continues to the small towns of Gyantse and Shigatse before arriving at Everest Base Camp, the mountain's northern base camp in Tibet.

(About Everest Base Camp: Mt Everest has two base camps, the southern camp in Nepal and the northern camp in Tibet. The southern camp is part of the more popular climbing route and is only accessible by hiking in; the northern camp — the one you will visit on this tour — is accessible by both walking in and by vehicle.)

In Lhasa, you have a few days to get acclimated to the high altitude and enjoy both guided sightseeing activities and free time to walk around the old city on your own. Then leave the city by comfortable van or minibus operated by an experienced driver, and head toward the Himalayas, passing beautiful temples and monasteries, remote villages, snow-covered mountains, sacred lakes, and herds of sheep and yaks.

Accommodation includes 4-star hotels in Lhasa and Shigatse, and a rustic tent guesthouse at Everest Base Camp. Other than breakfasts at the hotels, meals are not included, allowing you the flexibility to choose what and where to eat. Your guide can suggest restaurant options in each place you visit.

Your private tour includes pickup and drop-off in Lhasa, transport, entrance fees and Tibet travel permits; simply provide your passport details and China entry visas right after booking.

Please see Itinerary below for details on each day of the tour.

The Tibet Group Visa fee is not included in the tour price, so you will be asked to pay at the embassy. Please keep in mind that even if you have a Chinese visa, if you enter Tibet from Nepal, it is required that you have the Tibet Group Visa. Please be advised that when you apply for the Tibet Group Visa, the Chinese Embassy will cancel your current visa. You can only apply for the Tibet Group Visa through a local Nepalese agent, so this tour operator's local agent in Nepal will help you obtain it
  • Single room or double room accommodation will be chosen at checkout. If a group with an odd number of people chooses double room accommodation, one person will stay in a single room and the extra single room price will be included in the overall price of the tour
