About this activity
Canopy: 13 platforms and 10 cables with a brake system based on a suspension that provides 100% security. It is an experience filled with adrenaline and fun through the tops of the tropical rain forest, which are green year-round. In this journey, you can appreciate a great diversity of birds such as the rainbow toucan, hummingbirds, toledo birds, and marsh birds. Other wildlife such as monkeys, iguanas, butterflies, and mammals may also make an appearance.
Water Slide: Enjoy this totally refreshing experience with your family as you slide down a waterslide in the mountain. It is 1,400 feet (425 meters) of pure adventure, filled with adrenaline in the middle of the tropical forest. This is done with the necessary security equipment.
Horseback riding or carriage tour to thermal waters: Located less than two miles (three kilometers) from the hotel, you can go horseback riding for roughly 35 minutes. Or, take a 15-minute tractor ride and enjoy passing through the forest and crossing rivers while taking in views of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, the Costa Rican Pacific Coast, the Guanacaste grasslands, and more. Reach the thermal waters via a short hike past a waterfall, or opt to go directly to the pools. Here we have cafeteria and bar services (for an additional cost). Our staff can guide the horses for those children that are not completely comfortable riding alone.
Thermal waters in the tropical rainforest: Within the forest, surrounded by two rivers that come from the mountains, five thermal pools that come from a natural thermal water spring of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano await you, all with different temperatures and a sauna and bath of volcanic mud, and always accompanied by the natural sounds and sights of the Salitral River.
La Fonda: It is a live representation of important cultural gastronomic heritage. From the typical tortilla, which stands out due to its big dimension and thickness. The cooking in the clay pot gives a product of exquisite taste; it is put in the clay stove with the control of an exact temperature to have a well-cooked and soft tortilla that stands out in Costa Rican gastronomy. Our guests will taste typical dishes accompanied by freshly brewed coffee or “agua dulce” from the farm’s sugar cane mill.
