I thought from the reviews that this would be a great opportunity to see animals and birds in the cloud forest. A few days earlier we had an excellent experience at Mistico Park in Arenal. This was a long 13 hour trip. Our guide was tired and explained little during the long ride. When we finally got to the Cloud Forest he left us with an employee from the Cloud Forest who showed us the butterflies and hummingbirds and then left us. When we returned to the main area our guide showed up a few minutes later as we were not given any guidance when to meet him and told us to see the reptiles and the same employee took us back there. After lunch at the park which was fine but not as good as the local lunches we had on other trips we got to walk through the Cloud Forest. He walked so quickly that the only animal we saw was a black turkey. He did not even explain how the trees grow and tell us about the types of trees as our Mistico guide did. It was an expensive and long tour to see only animals on exhibit and no animals or birds in the woods. The highlight of the trip was a stop at the supermarket on the way back to our hotel to buy local food! Another family on the trip wrote a letter the next day and gave it to the tour company directly about how disappointed they were as well.

This tour was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide sadly, I forgot his name was such a cool, laid-back, and super informative individual. I can tell he's truly passionate about what he does. The hanging bridges were surreal. The reptiles' section was great, the butterfly exhibition was beautiful, and the insect collection although I find them incredibly gross was very impressive! Lastly, we got to see hummingbirds - which again, was so cool. Our driver was great. He was patient, very smart/informative, and friendly. This was overall more than I would've imagined. Definitely recommend! :-
