Lijiang Mini Group Tour: Yuhu Village, Yufeng Monastery, Baisha Village, Shuhe Ancient Town

After breakfast, set off on your Lijiang cultural tour by air-conditioned van at about 9:00 am. (The guide will contact you in advance to confirm the pickup time.)

Firstly, chauffeur to the peace and quiet Yuhu Village for Former Residence of Dr. Joseph Rock which is displaying myriad precious photos and personal items of Joseph Rock, an American Austrian explorer who spent 27 years here taking photographs and translating scriptures. Visitors will experience the ancient style by seeing the houses in pebbles masonry and narrow lanes, etc.

With another one hour driving, get to the magnificent Yufeng Monastery. After about half an hour visiting there, head to Baisha Village to admire the unique characters, precious historical artifacts, especially the mysterious mural. Baisha Village is one of the oldest towns in Lijiang and the earliest settlement of the Naxi people. Most of the paintings are about religious stories. The murals display the artistic characteristics of Naxi, Tibetan, Han and Bai minorities, among which the paintings about Kwan-yin and Sakyamuni are the most famous. Now Baisha Murals are taken as the most valued data for study of China's history of arts and religions.

At the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, sits a compact village hidden in the forest, it is Shuhe Ancient Town. With showing multiple cultural landscapes of unique folk customs, historical relics and beautiful natural scenery, the town offers the experience of simple and unsophisticated Naxi customs.
