DAY 01 - Welcome to Lima, Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and privately escorted to your hotel.
Dinner at Huaca Pucllana - This restaurant is set in the archaeological complex Huaca Pucllana, whose highlight is an adobe pyramid built with small handmade, sun-dried brick 1500 years ago. ‘La Huaca’ is definitely a unique place to taste the most popular specialties of Peruvian cuisine. The main dining room, featuring a mix of rustic colonial and minimalist décor, is a cozy place to dine. Still, the best spot for superb views of the pyramid is surely the covered terrace.
DAY 02 -
Barranco Tour (5 hours) - The district of Barranco may be the smallest of Lima’s 43 neighborhoods, but it is certainly one of its most prominent, and most romanticized. Barranco has long been the epicenter of Lima’s cultural elite, attracting artists; writers; designers and photographers for many generations, with its bohemian heyday coming during the 1960s and 70s. This walking tour can be diversified depending on your particular areas of interest, or hotspots you may want to visit. For those new to Lima; Barranco is well-known, among other things, for its selection of fantastic local eateries, ice cream,and cozy coffee houses like the legendary Juanito’s bar, or historical Tostaduria Bisetti cafe. If not in the mood for food; visit some of the charming boutiques, awash with traditional handmade garments and jewelry, ornaments and pottery from all over Peru, before heading to the bridge of Puente de Los Suspiros.
Day 03 -
Pachacamac Tour (4.5 hours) Visit to the ancient adobe ruins of Pachacamac located about 40 km (25 miles) SE of Lima. The pre-Inca temple dating from AD 100 was a place of pilgrimage, once covering 10 km2 (4 sq miles). Built centuries before the Incas, Pachacamac is noted for its great pyramidal temples and for the remains of frescoes adorning its adobe walls. Following the expansion of the Inca Empire, Pachacamac became an important Inca administrative center, while maintaining its status as a religious shrine. The site also includes an on-site museum with an interesting collection of pre-Hispanic relics.
Day 04 -
Market Tour + Booking Class (5 hours) Today you will visit the market of Surquillo.The great variety of native products is reflected in the broad selection of fruit, vegetables, herbs, fish and many other products offered. Your guide, and also cooking teacher for today, will explain many interesting details about the Peruvian cuisine.
After the visit of the market you will learn how to prepare some of the most famous Peruvian dishes. After all your effort, obviously, you may also taste and enjoy your creations.
