About this activity
Pick it up at your hotel or port in Lima at 10 a.m. and go beyond the typical tourist attractions with this practical gastronomic tour through the gastronomic capital of Peru. Start the 4-hour experience with a visit to a local market to taste regional specialties such as lucuma and custard apple, which have a sweet maple flavor and a custardy texture, respectively. Listen to your guide about the great importance of local markets for the current Peruvian population. You will have a little more time to support local producers by making a small offer: buying on your own.
Then, head to a local restaurant, listening to various points of interest in the city when you pass them. In the professional kitchen of the restaurant, participate in a practical cooking course taught by an expert instructor. Learn about the history and process of Peruvian dishes as you make them.
From scratch, create traditional Peruvian dishes such as Lomo Saltado, ceviche (fresh fish cured with citrus marinated in a variety of local ingredients), Causa Limeña (a plate of layers of potatoes) and Pisco Sour (Peruvian national cocktail, with local distillate alcohol). , egg whites and fresh citrus juice). After you have finished preparing everything, sit down and enjoy your meal and a cocktail with new friends.
After lunch we will embark on the last stage of our tour, examining the treasures of the museum with our guide. It will take you back in time, more than 5000 years, while sharing with you the history of Peru. As you examine the extraordinary collection of antiquities, you will learn from the intriguing cultures of times gone by, groups of people who arrived much earlier than those who are more familiar to us, the Incas. You will be surprised by the collection of gold and silver, the largest we have since antiquity. While you walk the road through the museum's own collection of classified archaeological remains of 45,000 pieces, you will understand why this museum is a must-see. Finally, you will have the opportunity to visit the famous erotic section of the museum, one of the most frequented attractions in all of Peru.
The tour concludes around 2 p.m. Return to their respective hotels
