About this activity
Our drive around the main streets and plazas of Lima will start at the Love Park in Miraflores with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, followed by a visit to Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial center of ancient Lima culture. In San Isidro, the financial center of the city, we will see Huaca Huallamarca, an ancient pre-Inca shrine. We will then continue to the Main Square, where we will find the Government Palace and the City Hall. We will visit the Cathedral and explore the Santo Domingo Convent. San Martin de Porras and San Rosa de Lima used to walk around these corridors in the 17th century, and their remains rest onsite today. Finally, we will visit the private collection of Mr. Mujica Gallo, who spent his life contributing to the recovery of Peru's historical heritage and established the Peruvian Gold Museum Foundation. Over 2,000 pieces of gold, silver, and brass belonging to the Mochica, Chimu, and Inca cultures are displayed here. Among the collection's most precious treasures are nose pieces, pots and utensils used for religious purposes, and some mummies. There is also a room where Inca and Paracas textiles are displayed, as well as pottery and some garments. The Weapons of the World collection is considered one of the best of its kind, showcasing relics of important figures from world history.
